Did a lot of research on the internet and you tube to finally select this pickup. I have two IBANEZ RG2550 one fitted with a Evolution in the bridge for smoother tones and the second fitted with the Super distortion for some Mid heavy rythms and 80's lead tones. The pickup delivers what it promises. IN the Bridge position it is a bit less crunchy than most pickups as this has a much enhanced mid range as per the frequency curve, very slightly warm tone when played clean and sparkling strat like tone in the combination of Bridge and middle pick up. My guitar runs into a VOX Saturator which runs into the clean channel of a Laney LV 300. I would say that if you are into heavy rock, Sabbath, Maiden, etc this pickup is for you no matter what you run it into as you can clearly get that mid punch and string definition in your rythms and solos. My rig's combination of VOX Saturator and The Super DIstortion of My Ibanez is a very versatile combination and the deadliest. I would suggest this combination to be a blind buy, you wont be disappointed. I wont talk much. I got it for $69. Fitting instructions are supplied in the box. Pickup needs no adjustments that are complex and is well packed and rugged. Gives a good feed back very easily on high gain. On Full throttle (Tone and volume) the pickup cuts through, its loud, harmonics jump out of your guitar, squeelies are nasty enough, Excellent pickup for rythm, clean up very well when you roll off the volume. Excellent string definition on lower volumes when played clean. over all great buy.I'm no expert, but I have had 40+ years of experience playing, building, and repairing guitars, and I must say that the DiMarzio Super Distortion Humbucker ( DP100 ) is my go-to pickup for ANY application. Hands down, this is the best pickup out there. Nothing sounds better through a cranked up tube amp. However, nobody ever seems to relate how this pickup sounds clean, and I'm here to tell you it's the best sounding clean pickup too! Plus, with 4 conductor wiring, you truly can have it all. I just installed 3 of these into a Les Paul Custom. I used push/pull pots so each pickup could change to single coil, and have phase reversal. The result is a Hot Rod Les Paul that nothing could come close to sounding as good plugged into a Marshall stack, or the best sounding guitar ever plugged into a Fender Twin reverb after going to single coil, out of phase! (You know, that boinkity-boink Fender sound ala the first few notes of "Sweet Home Alabama") Bottom line: THIS PICKUP DOES IT ALL!!I put this bridge pickup on a SSH configured Squire Strat. It's plenty bright but with a lot of depth. True lawn mower grind but with the dry detail of no distortion and the same time. Interesting One other notable attribute was the way the pickup either creates of picks up harmonics and tones that were not present with the previous Squire pickup, which wasn't bad at all. This DiMarzio SDH bridge pickup was worth every cent. I may experiment with extending the "South" or bridge side pickup poles with the provided Allen Wrench to give it just a little more twang, but this is a wonderful pickup just setting the height with the two spring screws on either side of the pickup. Get one and make your SSH Stratocaster scream.Love this Dimarzio product. fits my playing needs, sounds great, lots of crunch-product arrived on time.packaging was OK. using it on a Peavey ROCKMASTER, single pickup in the bridge position. turned a garbage pick, found it while jogging down an alley sticking out a trash can; gave it a once over, all was OK-new strings and this pick up it is now a nice player.Great, dynamic, articulate and easy to install. Be sure to visit Dimarzio’s website for a printout that shows string spacing to pole pieces (regular or F-spaced). F spaced is for guitars equipped with floyd rose tremolo system. Do not assume f-spaced for all tremolo systems...be sure to check using dimarzio template. So you bought a second hand guitar at the pawn shop and you want to learn some old 80's hair metal riffs. Well if you are wondering why your "new" guitar is not sounding like a metal eating beast look no further. Just pop this pup in and it will kick-start your heart! Turn everything up to 11 and let it rip! You will get chills up your spine from just a single distorted note. Then when your opening solo breaks down and you need to back it off to play a verse in your power ballad just roll the volume back on your guitar and the notes will ring out crisp and clean. Happy shredding metal heads. \m/All time favorite pickup. Will purchase from you guys again! On time and new as described!Well, in the realm of pickups there’s a few top brands including Dimarzio that I went back and forth on. These pickups were purchased to upgrade an 80s USA shredder and just haven’t seemed to melt with me yet. Could be the installs and setup, but the bass is extremely muddy and the treble end is harsh and tinny. This is through my JCM, and a Randall. Still trying to dial em’ in but may have to switch them out. If they don’t settle down, gonna switch out to some Creamery “Hair Metal” 83s that have worked very well in a real strat HSS - so hard to find pups online and know what they’re gonna end up sounding like.... but the fun is in the discovery I guess.
