Description

Blessed with near continuous Californian sun and cooled by Pacific Ocean breezes, this organically certified (CCOF) Californian coffee is a triumph of coffee production. Produced by Jay Ruskey's Good Land Organics Estate and grown just outside the normal geographic range of coffee in a frost-free microclimate on the south facing hills of Santa Barbara County, California, this small organic farm inter-plants its Bourbon Arabica coffee amongst its other subtropical and exotic fruits, using avocado trees for partial shade. Grown at an altitude of 180 meters, this coffee nonetheless has many characteristics of much higher elevation exotic coffees because of the rich soil and unique Mediterranean climate of the Santa Barbara region.
